I rode past your store.
Hungry and Bored
I was debating on stopping-by
My God those lines...

I still pulled into your lot
Found a spot in line.
Chicken and soda.
Extra waffle fries.
Damn the thought of it
Brought a tear to my eye,
The taste is just so divine.

Then I checked my facebook
As I waited for food.
An article on the Huffington Post,
Informed me that this line consisted of mostly homophobes.
5 million dollars donated to Gay-hate groups.

So I went next door
To get some Taco Bell.
No hate tacos
Sounded just as good.

It's been a few months :o)

With this whole thing with Chick-fil-A I thought this would be a good way to come back to life.

Update: I respect CFA stance on this. But This is my opinion. I hope some of you can understand this.

Just because the founder/proprietor of Chic-fil-A doesn't agree with the idea of gay marriage, it doesn't make the company gay hating.

I've never eaten at Chick-fil-A (while there are a few in the city where I now go to grad school, there weren't any within fifteen miles of my hometown, or fifty miles of where I went to undergrad, so if I went to a national chain restaurant I'd just pick one I was actually familiar with), and with the current fiasco, I don't ever plan to (if I want chicken that I don't have to cook myself that badly, I'll go to KFC or something). Very nice little poem, simple and to the point (free verse poetry is generally my favorite kind). CFA can have their opinions (even if I disagree with them), but funding hate groups just isn't right regardless of one's personal beliefs.

please do your research before posting ignorant, incorect statements. CFA has never once funded any "hate" groups. some of those groups are against homosexual marriage, but they are not hate groups. again, since when does disagreeing with someone automatically mean they hate them? please get your facts straight!!!

I'm sorry if the degree of discriminatory action taken by groups funded by the CFA may be somewhat gray in my previous post. However, that does not change the fact that I strongly disagree with this individual's viewpoints and do not like the food provided by this establishment, both of which are legitimate reasons for not being a patron of the establishment in question. I am allowed my own viewpoint as much as you are and he is, and would greatly appreciate not being told that I am ignorant merely because our opinions on what degree of bigotry constitutes a hate group differ. They won't say so on their website of course, but as far as I've been able to tell from my own research, Family Research Council (one of the groups in question) actively advocates against LGBT rights, abortion, divorce, etc. They do say on their website, however, that the organization "champions marriage and family as the foundation of civilization, the seedbed of virtue, and the wellspring of society", and "defend and promote the pro-family agenda", and I'm sure they hate me plenty too for not actively planning to get married and have a bunch of kids. (My facts are plenty straight. Are yours?)

i never said you are wrong on your views. If thats your beliefs, thats fine, i respect that. if you don't want to support them, again i respect that. again, several of my best friends are gay/ lesbian, and even tho they know my stance on the issue, we still respect each other. disagreeing with each other doesn't mean we can't be friends, and hang out, lol. But yes, you are wrong in calling them a hate group. and no one is being a bigot in any way.

Bigot: "a person obstinately or INTOLERANTLY devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially: one who regards or treats the members of a group with HATRED and INTOLERANCE.

None of the groups CFA funds show any hate or intolerance. this is my only issue with this ENTIRE CFA situation. they simply do not believe in this particular topic, and try to prevent such laws from passing. how is PEACEFULLY disagreeing, in any way hate? they also show NO intolerance. Dan Cathy has said numerous times, that he serves, and hires homosexuals, and welcomes them with open arms. how is that in any way intolerant? The KKK is a hate group. they believe everyone who's not white should die. that's a hate group. Nazi's are the same, if your not Aryan, they believe you should die. THATS A HATE GROUP. If you are comparing CFA and the groups they support, to extremist groups like that, then yes, that is ignorant. Thinking that CFA has bad food, yes thats an opinion (and i'd have to agree with you with regards to their chicken salad sandwhich, that thing is terrible, but their regular chicken sandwich, OMG its amazing, lol). saying they are a hate group, thats not an opinion, its an incorrect statement. In this country we are free to support whatever we want. so what your basically saying is that if you believe in something, you shouldn't support it? you believe in homosexual marriage, and you support it, correct? so what right does anyone have to say that they can't support in opposing it?

My whole (ONLY) problem with the way everyone is attacking CFA is that they are saying they are a hate group, and bigots. this is simply not true. if you don't agree with them, thats fine, but its not right to spread incorrect information to further your own cause.

And BTW, i appreciate the respectful tone of your message, and not resorting to childish name calling like matttwithonet is doing below (now he's a good example of a bigot, lol). If i sound insulting in any of my messages, thats not my intention, and i apologize in advance if i came across as such. Anyhoo, I just want it to stay a respectful, factual debate. thanks.

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on the subject of CFA. I appreciate your overall calm and respectful manner of stating your own beliefs on the subject. Rants not only don't convince anyone, but don't facilitate peaceful discussion, after all! And it's nice to find people who I can agree with on that particular point despite having other philosophical differences. I'll not be continuing this discussion, however, as I have several more pressing matters to take care of, primarily pertaining to grad school.

"I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree" is such a pussy answer, when someone has you dead to rights.

Um... actually, it doesn't mean that "someone has you dead to rights", it means that you have other things to deal with besides trying to convince someone who literally cannot be convinced. Sometimes, there does not exist a single argument that can do a single thing in the particular situation. Human nature can be frustrating like that. Also, I'm sure you are already aware that the whole "pussy answer" thing is offensive, and that's why you chose it, so I'm not going to waste any more time with you.
